In 1846 their joint work,\u00a0\u00a0<em>Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell<\/em>\u00a0 was published. \u00a0Anne was Action Bell. \u00a0Charlotte was Currer Bell and Emily was Action Bell.\u00a0The pseudonyms hid\u00a0the sisters&#8217; gender while preserving their initials.<\/p>\n<p>September of 1848 through May of 1849 was a dark time for the Bronte family. \u00a0Bramwell Bronte, the only boy of the Bronte siblings, passed away in September. \u00a0Emily Bronte passed in December of 1848. \u00a0Lastly, Anne passed away in May of 1849.
