\nAnne Bronte was an English novelist and poet. \u00a0She’s best known as the author of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall<\/em> and Agnes Grey<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Anne\u00a0worked as a governess. \u00a0She was employed by the Ingham family at Blake Hall and later by the Robinson family at Thorp Green Hall. \u00a0 The Hall was the inspiration for Horton Lodge in Agnes Grey<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Anne and her sisters Charlotte and Emily were all writers. In 1846 their joint work,\u00a0\u00a0Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell<\/em>\u00a0 was published. \u00a0Anne was Action Bell. \u00a0Charlotte was Currer Bell and Emily was Action Bell.\u00a0The pseudonyms hid\u00a0the sisters’ gender while preserving their initials.<\/p>\n

September of 1848 through May of 1849 was a dark time for the Bronte family. \u00a0Bramwell Bronte, the only boy of the Bronte siblings, passed away in September. \u00a0Emily Bronte passed in December of 1848. \u00a0Lastly, Anne passed away in May of 1849. Her final\u00a0poem was entitled A dreadful darkness closes in<\/em>.<\/p>\n
